Nestled above the Broadmoor hotel on a steep slope with ponderosa pine and scrub oak, this lot provided both challenges and opportunities for our wonderful clients. While remodeling this older home, they desired to modernize and provide opportunities for outdoor living, entertaining, and enjoying their beautiful space. They had wonderful ideas and had already sourced a grill and Ipe parquet decking for the front outdoor living and rear patio areas.
We integrated their desires, and created a fenced in area for their dogs using new wood fencing, as well as re-purposing metal gates salvaged from construction. The new concrete patio included a gas fireplace and grill. Stairs and a walkway to the back lead to a beautiful natural water feature, patio, lawn area for the dogs, and beautiful plantings. In the front, natural boulder walls were installed to create planting areas for deer resistant colorful plantings. The finished landscaped smoothly transitioned to the natural surroundings.
