Our clients decided to perform a major transformation on their home and were kind enough to allow us to re-develop the exterior. The property owners had great insight and understanding of the direction they had in mind for their project. We worked together over time to help bring their vision to life. Please view the before and after in the first photos to get a small feel of the extent of the renovation.
Our crews spent the first season of the project installing the Colorado buff flagstone on all of the exterior decks, walkways, stairs, and patios. We then began to enlarge and sculpt the finished landscape areas by re-grading and building Siloam stone retaining walls and stairs. We continued the rear retaining wall and seamlessly created a free-standing wall to provide gated separation from the side and back yard.
The next major construction item was installation of a sweeping driveway from the residence to the cul-de-sac in front. We chose pavers for this part of the project to provide an appealing look, durability, and effective long-term maintenance. The curvature of the drive allowed us to bring in a small forest of evergreens, giving the residence screening from the cul-de-sac in front.
After the major tree plantings were in place, we worked with our client to develop a palette of favorite plantings. The goal was to provide seasonal interest, while keeping in mind ultimate sizes and maintenance requirements. We struck a good balance to ground the home, while not overwhelming its beauty.
Finally, the lawn, native seeding, and mulching completed the expansive transformation. We feel privileged to be a part of this work and to have been able to work with such wonderful clients.
