We were able to work with wonderful clients on this new build project to create and install their landscaping and outdoor living space. The lot was generous sized, but provided some challenges for screening and drainage.
We helped to design the layout for the circular drive, walks, and patio area. After planning to connect these areas around the home, we then developed a planting plan. Our clients had a stucco wall built around the sides and back of the property, but were still exposed in several areas and needed some screening. The lot also had minimal drainage in all directions, and we needed to ensure that our work would enhance and not inhibit the drainage flow.
The paver patio extended their outdoor living space out in to the back yard. We incorporated a built-in recirculating water feature. This feature served double duty to retain soil from above, while blending seamlessly in to the seating wall adjacent to the patio. It also provided an inviting and unique focal point from the inside of the home and the outdoor living area as well.
Once landscape construction was complete, we addressed the drainage by allowing the water to pass through river cobble in higher flow areas. We also developed ancillary walkways throughout the property.
The planting plan continued the character of the neighborhood, as well as served to screen and provide seasonal interest. Spacious lawns served to connect the areas and provide play space for family.
