This project features landscaping on an expansive lot surrounded by native pine and scrub oak. Our client expressed the desire to have cottage garden style plantings, along with connectivity throughout the different parts of the landscape. The end result was a beautiful, colorful, multi-layered landscape.
Slight terracing and a seating wall matching the stone on the exterior of the home define the more manicured part of the landscaping from the native seeding and plantings beyond. We continued the flagstone patio and walkways in a fashion that the home builder had started. Siloam stone stairs were used on steeper parts of the walk. A water feature was built in the front island to provide views of falls and streams from both the home and the motor entry.
After hardscaping was complete, we layered the landscape with plantings of trees, shrubs, perennials, and grasses. Cedar mulch provided a soft backdrop for the plantings.
Our wonderful clients were pleased with the colorful gardens around their home and have enjoyed them for many years.
