Creating an Entry Courtyard at Peregrine

About This Project
Every Project is Unique

After living in their home for years, our clients realized that the front walk area to their home provided potential to realize their needs, wants and desires. Overlooking the Air Force Academy in northwestern Colorado Springs, the property was home to not only people, but a large population of deer as well. Part of the dream was to create beds for gardening that would be protected from wildlife. The main challenge was to transform a steep slope into an outdoor living area with room for gathering, a fireplace, fire pit, and storage for gardening tools and seasonal items. Revamping the existing front walk area and creating a courtyard satisfied their vision.

Due to the steep slope, an engineered retaining wall was required to provide level space. Careful detail was provided to sequence the compaction, footings, underground utilities, and drainage to support the patio, masonry, and landscape. After nearly two decades, the construction is performing flawlessly.

Once the construction items were placed, finishing details to include lighting, a water feature, and plantings were installed.

The finished project provides a warm sense of enclosure and protection, while still allowing views of the surrounding beauty. Please have a look at the photos and see how the entry was transformed. If we can be of service to help you transform your outdoor living space, please feel free to contact us.
