Adjacent to Flying Horse golf course in northern Colorado Springs, this home and property presented unique views and opportunities. We had worked with this couple in their prior home, and worked in tandem with a landscape designer to bring their contemporary vision to life.
We feel that contemporary design is not only a feeling of straight-line design, but that it pairs well with xeriscape plant selection and principles. This property had just enough natural turf to blend in with the adjacent homes, as well as meet the requirements of the homeowners association.
We were able to order in custom stones to create a water feature in back, as well as columns for a focal point in front. The planting installation met the needs of the design well, offering straightforward variety and color. The creation of berms and some curves served to blend the back yard to the course, while providing low screening.
